Multi-county high-speed police pursuit ends after passing thru Bardstown

Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019 — Officers with the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office participated in a police pursuit of driver fled from a Kentucky State Police Columbia Post 15 Trooper during a routine traffic stop Saturday evening in Washington County.

Just before 8 p.m. Saturday night, local law enforcement were advised of high-speed police pursuit heading into Nelson County from Washington County on US150 with the Kentucky State Police following the suspect operating a green passenger car.

The driver turned right from Springfield Road onto Parkway Drive; then right onto Woodlawn Road before returning to Bardstown on Bloomfield Road. The suspect turned left on East Stephen Foster and headed at high speed west out of town, striking another vehicle along the way. After leaving Bardstown, the suspect’s car left the roadway and crashed after passing Bardstown Auto Wreckers.

He was taken into custody by KSP Troopers. A Nelson County animal control officer responded to take custody of the suspect’s dog that was in the vehicle.
