Obituary: Benjamin Taylor ‘Bennie’ Kessler, 78, Danville
Benjamin Taylor “Bennie” Kessler, 78, of Danville, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019, at Ephraim McDowell Hospital in Danville. He was born Feb. 29, 1940, in Lebanon. He was a retired employee of the City of Lebanon and a former member of Lebanon United Methodist Church. He was currently a member of the Junction City Methodist Church. Since the late 1980s, he was a licensed Amateur Radio operator who held the callsign KB4UPW. He was active with assisting in emergency communications and weather spotting in Lebanon and Marion County. He was a longtime member of the Kentucky Amateur Radio Society.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Frances Irene Taylor Kessler.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen Clark Kessler of Danville; one daughter, Peggy Kessler of Danville; one son, Michael Kessler of Lebanon; two sisters, Addie Jane Kessler of Lebanon and Cattie Taylor of Summersville, Miss.; and four grandchildren.
The family has chosen cremation with a celebration of Life Service 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019, at Lebanon United Methodist Church.
Expressions of Sympathy may take the form of donations to Lebanon United Methodist Church or to the Junction City Methodist Church.
