Obituary: Sarah Cleota Mattingly, 91, Bardstown

Sarah Cleota Mattingly, 91, of Bardstown, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2019, at Landmark of Bardstown. She was born Jan. 7, 1928, in Bardstown to the late Archie and Evelyn Fryrear Beam. She was a former employee of Heaven Hill Distillery and a member of The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Lewis Mattingly; one son, Ronald Lewis Mattingly; and one brother, Sammy Beam.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Ronette Mattingly (Floyd Nielsen, Jr.) of Cox’s Creek; two grandchildren, Floyd Nielsen and Kayla Nielsen; and her companion, Mac Machen.

Visitation is 2-6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2019, at the Houghlin Greenwell Funeral Home with cremation to follow.

The Houghlin Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
