Man arrested in connection with break-ins at Wayne-O’s, 1st Baptist Church

Wednesday, March 20, 2019 — A Nelson County man faces burglary charges in connection with break-ins at a New Haven church and business.
On March 9, 2019, the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office investigated a burglary at Wayne-O’s Garage in New Haven. During that investigation, deputies were notified that the First Baptist Church of New Haven nearby had also been burglarized and ransacked.
During the deputy’s investigation, Freddrick Beatty became a person of interest. Beatty was questioned about the burglaries, and on Monday, March 18, 2019, he admitted to his part in both burglaries.
Beatty was arrested and charged with one count of first-degree burglary for his role in the Wayne-O’s Garage break-in, and two counts of second-degree burglary for his role in the First Baptist Church break-in. He was lodged in the Nelson County Jail.
Nelson County Sheriff’s Detective Brandon Bryan is investigating the case.
