Pinwheels are reminder April is Child Abuse Prevention Month

NC GAZETTE / WBRT RADIO
STAFF REPORT
Thursday, April 4, 2019 — The blue and silver pinwheels you see at the Old Courthouse, the local fire department, and in front of homes around town signify that April is Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month. The pinwheels remind us that protection of our children is the duty of all of us.
The volunteers who work as Nelson County Court Appointed Special Advocates work every day to help the children who are — through no fault of their own — passing through the court system. The volunteers serve as advocates for the children and as informal advisors to the courts.
