Obituary: Mildred Louise Clark Allen, 87, formerly of Fredericktown

Mildred Louise Clark Allen, 87, of Lexington, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, in Lexington. She was born in Fredericktown on Aug. 24, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Deuward and Anna Clark. She was an accomplished seamstress, excellent cook, avid golfer and loved to play bridge. She spent countless hours volunteering at her children’s schools and at church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years, Dewey Allen; and seven siblings, Elizabeth Brooks, Ceal Renner, Martha Ann Ballard, Bill Clark, Jude Clark, Joe Bobby Clark and Leo Clark.

Survivors include one daughter, Ellen Whitley and Carrie (Scott) Boling, both of Lexington; one son, Jim Allen of Lexington; one brother, the Rev. Thomas R. Clark of Bardstown; two great-grandchildren, Aiden Whitley and Azalea Whitley; and a host of special nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.

The Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2019, at Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary, 601 Hill’n Dale in Lexington. Burial is in Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation is 9:30 – 11 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2019, at the church.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Bethlehem High School, 309 W. Stephen Foster Ave., Bardstown, KY 40004 or your favorite charity.

The Milward Funeral Home in Lexington is in charge of arrangements.
