Terrance Wayne “Terry” Alvey, 66, of Bardstown, died Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at University Hospital. He was born June 7, 1952, in Marion County. He loved fishing, being outdoors,

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Benedict Alvey; his mother, Ruby Alvey Newton Hamilton; and four brothers, Donald Gerard Alvey, Clarence Alvie Alvey, James Garland Alvey and Joseph William “Dink” Alvey.
Survivors include two sons, Sammy Alvey and Tommy Alvey, both of Bardstown; one daughter, Shelly Robinson (Ricky) of Louisville; five sisters, Joyce Mattingly (Roger) of Saint Francis, Ina Steele (Ron) of San Antonio, Texas, Peggy Lyvers (Wayne) of Louisville, Marilyn Newton (Ray) of Bardstown and Debbie Rucker (Danny) of Cocoa, Fla.; three brothers, John Thomas “Tobin” Alvey of Indianapolis, Randy Alvey and Tony Alvey, both of Saint Francis; and five grandchildren, Shayla Alvey, Caleb Robinson, Cadence Alvey, Cage Alvey and Kyndal Robinson.
Cremation was chosen. A memorial service is 4 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 2019, at Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto with Deacon Joseph R. Dant officiating.
Visitation is 3-4 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 2019, at the funeral home.
Mattingly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
