Sunday, May 26, 2019 — A Lexington man suffered head trauma Saturday morning when the motorcycle he was operating crashed in the median of the Bluegrass Parkway.

At about 10:48 a.m. Saturday, Larry Thomas, 60, of Lexington, was traveling west on a 1996 Honda motorcycle near the 27 mile marker. The rider and motorcycle both went airborne, with the bike coming down on top of the operator in the ditch in the median.

Thomas was treated at the scene by Nelson County EMS and then airlifted from the scene by medical helicopter to University Hospital in Louisville for treatment of his injuries.
