Obituary: James William ‘Jim’ Lucas, 76, Lebanon Junction

James William “Jim” Lucas, 76, of Lebanon Junction, died Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at his home. He was a self-employed insurance and real estate agent, a member of Shepherdsville Baptist Church, the Lion’s Club, and the Greater Louisville Association of Life Underwriters.

He was preceded in death by one son, Charles Thomas “Tommy” Lucas; his parents, Charles Thomas Lucas, Sr. and Margaret Pauline Lucas; one sister, Oma Lee Feaster; and three brothers, Joseph “Wilson” Lucas, Charles Thomas “Tommy” Lucas, Jr. and Thomas Curtis Lucas

Survivors include his wife, Anita Daniels Lucas; one daughter, Lori Lucas Davis; three sisters, Mary “Aline” Vessels, Catherine “Inez” Lucas and Anna “Geraldine” Riggs (Adrian); five grandchildren, Natasha Armstrong (Chris), Kaitlin Roe, Madeline Davis, Camille Davis and Emma Lucas; and seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral is noon Saturday, June 1, 2019, at the First Baptist Church of Shepherdsville with Dr. Steve McSwain officiating.

Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2019, at Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction, and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Wounded Warriors or Hosparus of Lousivlle.

Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction is in charge of the arrangements.
