STAFF REPORT

Thursday, June 6, 2019 — The Nelson Elite Girls is a collection of under 16 soccer players comprised of young ladies from all four local high schools. At the start of the 2019 season, these girls set a team goal to win the U.S. Youth Soccer President’s Cup for Kentucky. That goal was achieved over two weekends in May against some very talented competition.

Now the Nelson Elite Girls will represent U16 girls’ soccer from Kentucky beginning June 13 – June 17 at the Midwest Regional President’s Cup in Overland Park, Kan. Winners from 14 states will compete in Kansas for an opportunity to advance to the National President’s Cup competition in Murfreesboro, Tenn. July 10 – 14.

The team has set up a Go Fund Me Account to raise funds to help with the expense of the trip to the Midwest Regional event in Kansas.

You can also make donations directly to the team by making checks payable to “Nelson Elite 03 Girls” and mail it to Larue – Carey Insurance Group (Attention: NE Fundraiser), 960 Chambers Blvd Bardstown, KY 40004.

The girls’ soccer team will be hosting a Pork Chop Fundraiser Saturday, June 8 at Boone’s Butcher Shop in Bardstown from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost of a Pork Chop Meal will be $6.00 including pork chop sandwich, chips and water.

The team greatly appreciates all the support we have received and look forward to representing Kentucky in the Midwest Regional President’s Cup.
