Two people injured in Thursday evening two-vehicle crash on Burg Hill

Friday, June 14, 2019 — Two people were injured Thursday evening in a two vehicle accident on US150, the Springfield Road, at the bottom of Burg Hill.
According to the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office, at about 6:08 p.m. Thursday, William Greer, 60, of Bardstown, was making a left-hand turn from a farm field onto US 150 in his 2014 Dodge 5500 truck when he pulled into the path of a westbound 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt operated by Jewel-Beth Basham, 21, of Elizabethtown.
Basham and a juvenile passenger in her vehicle were injured in the crash. They were treated at the scene by Nelson County EMS and transported to Flaget Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The engine compartment of the Cobalt caught fire while first-responders were working the accident. Deputies and the wrecker service driver extinguished the fire with their fire extinguishers. The Nelson County Fire Department responded was their assistance was not needed.
Nelson County Deputy Sheriff Dalton Pinkston investigated the accident.
