Obituary: Joseph Stephen ‘Steve’ Jury, 61, Bardstown

Joseph Stephen “Steve” Jury, 61, of Bardstown, died Thursday, June 13, 2019, at Norton Women and Children’s Hospital in Louisville. He was born Jan. 13, 1958, in Bardstown to the late Robert and Louise Riley Jury. He was an estimator for Sang Wrecking and Tree Service and a member of Vine Hill Baptist Church. He will be remembered most for being a loving husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Judy Ritchie and Donna Marie Jury; and two brothers, Bobby Jury and Donnie Jury; and one sister-in-law, Shirley Jury.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene Spalding Jury; one daughter, Tina (Eddie) Nichols of Bardstown; one son, Travis (Lauren) Jury of Cox’s Creek; two sisters, Marlene Weir of Bardstown and Carol Burman of Richmond; three brothers, Freddie (Jean) Jury of Cox’s Creek, and Wayne (JoAnn) Jury and Larry (Donna) Jury, both of Elizabethtown; one sister–in-law, Rose Jury of Bardstown; one brother-in-law, Julian “Skeeter” Ritchie of Bardstown; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at New Salem Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan Gann officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Monday, June 17, 2019, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, and 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at the church.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
