Obituary: Donald Ray Mattingly, 66, Shepherdsville

Donald Ray Mattingly, 66, of Shepherdsville, died Thursday, June 13, 2019, at University of Louisville Hospital with his family by his side. He was a Baptist by faith. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, playing music, his Harley Davidson, singing in the church choir, Kentucky Basketball and time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Martha Mattingly; and a child, DJ Mattingly.

Survivors include his loving wife, Donna Mattingly; four children, Bobbi Jo Baird (Justin) of Shepherdsville, Josh Mattingly (Amanda) of Shepherdsville, Joseph Mattingly of Shepherdsville and Jesse Mattingly of Louisville; two sisters, Phyllis Buttry (Ross) of Tennessee, and Shirley Walls (Ernie) of Boston; two brothers, Jerry Mattingly of Louisville, and Ricky Mattingly (Cathy) of Cox’s Creek; seven grandchildren, Braden Mattingly, Kyle Baird, Ryan Baird, Kendyll Mattingly, Cruz Mattingly, Kaden Baird and Piper Baird; and many other family members and friends.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at Bardstown Junction Baptist Church with Bro. Mark Harrison officiating. Burial is in Highland Memory Gardens.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Monday, June 17, 2019, and 1-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at Maraman-Billings Funeral Home and 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Donnie’s Squad with the American Cancer Society.

The Maraman-Billings Funeral Home in Shepherdsville is in charge of arrangements.
