Obituary: Mary Ann Murray, 53, Bardstown

Mary Ann Murray, 53, of Bardstown, died Friday, June 14, 2019, at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. She was born on Oct. 7, 1965, in Bardstown to the late Robert and Mary Helen Stone Murray. She was a CNA for Flaget Hospital and Federal Hill Nursing Home and was a member of St. John AME Zion Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, James Robert “Coola” Murray.

She is survived by her husband, Charles David Hood; three daughters, Tina Murray, Katrina Murray and Tabitha Murray, all of Bardstown; two brothers, John Joseph Murray and Samuel Mark “Billie” Hood, both of Bardstown; two children she and her husband raised as daughters, Johnna Moberly and Sandy Tonge; six grandchildren, Kaeliyan Ellis, Jyheem Ellis, Chazarri Phillips, DeAndre K. R. Lewis, Kamdrea A. Lewis and Amia N. Murray; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2019, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with the Rev. Roscoe Linton and the Rev. Harold Stone officiating. Burial is in Bardstown Cemetery.

Visitation is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2019, at the funeral home.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
