Obituary: June Rose Schlesinger, 82, Bardstown

June Rose Schlesinger, 82, of Bardstown, died peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, June 28, 2019. She was born Aug. 6, 1936, in Swanton Morley, England, to the late Clement and Rosie White Yarham.

She was a retired sales clerk for Sears and an active member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. She enjoyed volunteering for the Flaget Hospital Ladies Auxillary, and being involved in the Nelson County Homemakers Club and Witty Friends of Bardstown. She loved to bake and share her delicious baked goods with family and friends. Most of all, she was a faithful servant, loved her family and cherished spending time and traveling with them. She never missed sending cards to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Schlesinger.

She is survived by one daughter, Debra (John) McGrath of Fisherville; four sons, Paul (Peggy) Schlesinger of Bardstown, Carl (Carole) Schlesinger of Dover, Del., Kenneth (Denise) Schlesinger of Louisville, and Andrew (Liz) Wilson of Anstey, England; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church with the Rev. Kien Nguyen officiating.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2019, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Epilepsy Foundation of Kentuckiana, 982 Eastern Pkwy, Louisville, KY 40217.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
