First Cedar Creek Baptist Church to celebrate 238th birthday Sunday morning

Saturday, July 6, 2019 — The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church will celebrate her 238th birthday Sunday, July 7, 2019. The church was constituted July 4, 1781.

Sunday’s 11 a.m. worship service will include the cantata “God, Bless America Again!” This musical call to prayer for the nation we love will be presented by the adult choir. The choir leader, Margareth Miguel, formerly of Sao Paulo, Brazil, recently celebrated her first July 4th as an American citizen. During the cantata, Margareth will sing “The Lord’s Prayer” accompanied by guitarist, Rogerio Miguel, her brother from Sao Paulo, Brazil; by violinist, Ruthie Walton, a former member of the University of Louisville orchestra; and by church pianist, Angie Brothers McCubbins. Narrating the cantata will be Katrina Bramlett, the pastor’s wife. Katrina, Craig Watson, Kathy Watson, and Randy Curtsinger will sing solos. Following the music presentation, Pastor Victor Bramlett will bring a message entitled “How to Get God to Bless America” (2 Chronicles 7:14).

The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church will feature a picnic following Sunday’s celebration of the church’s 238th birthday.

To continue the celebration, a picnic with grilled hot dogs and hamburgers will be served in the church pavilion which was newly constructed and will be put to use for the first time.

All are invited to attend!

Services and activities of The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church include Bible study for all ages at 9:45 am each Sunday with worship services at 11:00am and 7:00pm; and Wednesday Bible study and prayer time at 7:00pm with choir rehearsal at 8:00pm.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL. “In the Wild” Vacation Bible School will be Monday through Friday, July 22-26, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Call (502) 507-7159 for more information about these and other church activities.

The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church is located 5 miles west of Bardstown off Boston Road (Hwy 62) on Bellwood Road (Hwy 733).

The recurring theme of The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church since her 200th birthday in 1981 has been “To God Be the Glory, Great Things He Has Done!”
