Obituary: Anne Marks Foster, 95, Bardstown

Anne Marks Foster, 95, of Bardstown, died Monday, July 8, 2019, at Signature Health Care of Bardstown. She was born Feb. 2, 1924, in Bardstown to the late Lovell Edelen and May Phillips Marks. She attended Bardstown High School and Women’s Bethel Baptist College until it closed, then finished at Centre College. She attended the Kentucky Baptist School of Nursing and worked at Flaget Memorial Hospital when it first opened as a registered nurse for several years. She was a lifelong member of Bardstown Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Roy G. Foster Jr.; and two sisters, Betty Marks Turpin and Edna Marks Knight.

She is survived by one daughter, Margaret “Peggy” Foster (Kenneth) Stone of Bardstown; two sons, John “Jack” (Debbie) Foster of Cox’s Creek and William “Bill” (Hudie) Foster of Springfield; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

The family honored her request for cremation and a private burial will follow at a later date.

The family requests that contributions be made in the form of donations to the Bardstown Baptist Church in her memory.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
