ATV rider injured Saturday morning when trapped under overturned machine

Saturday, July 20, 2019 — One man was injured Saturday morning in an ATV rollover accident in the area of 1400 block of Pappy Cecil Lane.

The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office, Nelson County Fire Department and Nelson County EMS were dispatched at 9:38 a.m. to the area for a report of a 28-year-old man trapped beneath his overturned ATV. By the time first-responders arrived, the victim was out from under the machine.

The victim was treated by EMS at the scene, and then flown from the scene to University Hospital by a medical helicopter with a possible open fracture of his left arm.
