Obituary: John ‘Buck’ Manning, 70, Taylorsville

John “Buck” Manning, 70, of Taylorsville, died Friday, July 19, 2019, atBaptist Health Louisville. He was born in Louisville, the son of the late George Leroy and Della Frances Hancock Manning. He was a member of the Taylorsville Community Church and a former welder at the Artisan Industrial Company in Louisville. In addition to his welding career, he was honored to have been elected to serve several terms as a constable for Spencer County. He enjoyed making his family laugh with his song writing skills and he loved to hunt, especially when his grandchildren went along with him.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Alice A. Manning of Taylorsville; two daughters, Karen Leff (Steve), and Sherrie Coulter (Brad), both of Taylorsville; three sons, Johnny Manning (Kim), Jason Manning (Becky), and Jeff Manning, all of Taylorsville; four sisters, Patricia Elliott of Mount Washington, Jeannie Myles of Bloomfield, Roberta Nichols of Taylorsville, and Mary Manning Adams of Louisville; two brothers, James Manning of Willisburg and Bobby Manning of Mount Washington; 15 grandchildren, Kyrstin (Bradley), Brodye, Jacob, Sylar, Gabe, Luke, Braxten, Branden, Karlie, Bradley L. , Kaden, Kylie, Baylie, Bradley C., and Jaxen; and one great-granddaughter, Milly.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Taylorsville with Rev. Chad Goodlett and Randall Burgin officiating.

Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2019, at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Spencer County 4-H Shooting Sports Club, Post Office Box 368, Taylorsville, Kentucky 40071.
