STAFF REPORT
Tuesday, July 23, 2019 — Pension reform now before the special session of the Kentucky General Assembly will be the topic of discussion on Wednesday morning’s “Bradford & Brooks” radio show on WBRT.

Join Jim and Margie at 11 a.m. for a review of the pension legislation that is aimed at providing relief to the “quasi” organizations who face crippling pension obligations if they remain in the Kentucky Retirement System.
Chris Tobe, a financial expert on pensions and author of “Kentucky Fried Pensions,” will be our telephone guest to discuss the pension reform legislation, and if it will accomplish what it was intended to do.
The legislation being considered would allow “quasi” governmental organizations — like universities, health departments, rape crisis centers, etc. — to leave KRS once their agree to pay their pension liabilities. The legislation gives the organizations up to 30 years to pay off that obligation.
Join us at 11 a.m. on WBRT 1320 AM / 97.1 FM, streaming live online at wbrtcountry.com, or live on BRTV Channel 19 on the Bardstown Cable TV system.
