Obituary: Wilbur Anthony ‘Wil’ Holbert Sr., 86, Lyons Station

Wilbur Anthony “Wil” Holbert, Sr., 86, of Lyons Station, died Tuesday, July 23, 2019. He was retired from Ford Motor Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Edna Holbert; and two siblings, Ed Holbert and Jeannie Waters.

He is survived by his wife, Florice Stepp Holbert; eight daughters, Linda L. Cox (Bobby), Anita R. Temple (Steve), Cindy M. Holbert, Tanya R. Burgess, Donna Gaither (Roger), Kathy Pfaff (Tim), Sandy Hawkins, and Diana Conway (Tony); two sons, John A. Gividen Jr. (Gracie) and Wilbur A. Holbert Jr.; one sister, Gloria Dean Vize (Joe); two brothers, Ardell Hobert and Daniel (Martha) Holbert; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2019, at the Rolling Fork Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2019, at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven, and 9-11 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2019, at the Rolling Fork Baptist Church.

The Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven is in charge of arrangements.
