Obituary: Thelma ‘Bonnie’ Mattingly, 93, Louisville

Thelma “Bonnie” Mattingly, 93, of Louisville, died Saturday, July 27, 2019, at Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital. She was a native of Marion County. She was born Feb. 1, 1926, to the late Francis Bernard Cahoe Sr. and Mary Gertrude Nalley Cahoe. She enjoyed quilting, reading and watching television and she loved visiting her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Cleophas Mattingly Sr. (2008); one daughter, Linda Victoria Mattingly; four sons, Francis Ernest Mattingly, Stanley Carmen Mattingly, Ronald Blaine Mattingly and infant William Eric Mattingly; four sisters, Bernice Brown, Gertrude Bagwell, Sharmaine Dencoff and Arietta Stastyshyn; five brothers, Forrest Cahoe, Francis B. Cahoe Jr., Charles T. Cahoe, Hugh F. Cahoe and James Paul Cahoe.

Survivors include six daughters, Connie Dixon and Becky Cox, both of Louisville, Mary Ann Blair and Bessie Peterson, both of Lebanon, Debbie Carter (David) of Lancaster and Margo Trapp (Rick) of Cincinnati, Ohio; one son, Joe Mattingly (Sherri) of Mount Washington; one brother, Carmen Cahoe (Jeanette) of Louisville; 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with Deacon Joseph R. Dant officiating. Burial is in the St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery.

Visitation is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at the funeral home.

The Mattingly Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
