Obituary: James Edward ‘Jim’ Hook, 77, Fredricktown

James Edward “Jim” Hook, 77, of Fredricktown, died Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at his residence. He was born March 2, 1942, to the late Charles and Mary Martin Hook. He was a former employee of Bowling Roofing Company, a member of local #106 and a member of the Catholic faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Iona Rooks Hook; and one brother, Billy Hook.

Survivors include two daughters, Susan (Tom) Chambless and Karen Jones, both of Bardstown; two sons, Jim Hook Jr. of Markleville, Ind. and John Hook of Mount Washington; three sisters, Patty Carter, Judy (Larry) Chesser, and Pam (Ron) Bishop, all of Louisville; three brothers, Bobby (Mary Jane) Hook, Ricky Hook and Timmy Hook, all of Louisville; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5, 2019, at the Houghlin Greenwell Funeral Home with burial in Holy Trinity Catholic Church Cemetery.

Visitation is 2-7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, 2019, and 8:30-11 a.m. Monday at the Houghlin Greenwell Funeral Home.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
