Obituary: Mary Patricia ‘Patty’ Salmon, 77, Madrid

Mary Patricia “Patty” Salmon, 77, of Madrid, died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019, at her residence. She was born in New Hope Dec. 5, 1941, the daughter of the late Virgil and Mary Alice Miles Clan. She was a homemaker whose life was devoted to her children and their families. She enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, riding four-wheelers, adult coloring books and painting ceramics. She grew up in the Catholic faith and her home church was St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in New Hope.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven siblings, Susie Clan, Joyce Fick, Libby Vittitow, Janie Hardin, Darrell Clan and an infant brother and sister.

Patty is survived by one daughter, Nancy Satterly (Joe) of Madrid; three sons, Bobby Bell of Mount Washington, Pat Salmon (Jeanette) of Madrid, and Joseph Salmon (Gini) of Axtel; one sister, Deloris Blair of Louisville; three brothers, Kenny Clan (Cheryl) of New Hope, Jimmy Clan of Bardstown, and Wayne Clan of Sonora; 10 grandchildren, Patricia Huffines (Paul), Tasha Critchelow (Adam), Joe Satterly (Chelsea), Cory Bell, Casey Johnson (Dominique), Kristina Salmon, Travis Salmon (Kayla), Lance Salmon (Mary), Mark Salmon (Shannon) and Cody Salmon; 16 great-grandchildren, Rhiannon, Kayleigh Huffines, Kaidyn Huffines Critchelow, Aiden Critchelow, Stella Critchelow, Elena Critchelow, Audrina Satterly, Naomi Satterly, Trey Johnson, Mya Johnson, Malik Mitchell, Mason Mitchell, Henry Salmon, Jaxson Salmon, Sierra Salmon. and Kira Salmon due in September.

The funeral is 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2019, at St. Anthony Catholic Church. 1654 South Highway 79 in Hardinsburg. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, 2019, and 8-9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2019, at the Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg. A prayer service is 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

The Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg is in charge of arrangements.
