Obituary: Joseph Miles Sweat, 90, Lebanon Junction

Joseph Miles Sweat, 90, of Lebanon Junction, died Monday, Aug. 12, 2019, at Helmwood Health and Rehabilitation. He worked at General Electric and was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Lebanon Junction.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Cathy Jo Sweat; his parents, Thomas Jefferson and Louise Boone Sweat; two brothers, T.J. Sweat and Buster Sweat; and four sisters, Ester, LaVerne, Frances and Myrtle.

Survivors include his wife, Roxanne Noel “Roxie” Sweat; one daughter, Kim Johnson; two stepdaughters, Patty Howell and Kelley Kelly (John); two stepsons, Charles Gilbert (Beth) and David Gilbert (Rhonda); one sister, Fronia Huffman; one brother, Rudolph Sweat; one grandson, Chris Johnson; and nine stepgrandchildren, Corey, Zack, Chris, Anna, Cooper, Conner, Peyton, Charlie and Sara.

The Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, 2019, at St. Benedict Catholic Church with the Rev. Terry Langford officiating. Burial is in the Lebanon Junction City Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2019, and after 9 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, 2019, at the Trowbridge Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction.

Trowbridge Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction has been entrusted with the arrangements.
