Obituary: Rebekah Lou Hood, 77, Bardstown
Rebekah Lou Hood, 77, of Bardstown, died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2019, at her residence. She was born Nov. 12, 1941, in Pennington Gap, Va., to the late Lon Bradford and Dora Turner Shuler. She was a retired director of health occupations at Jefferson State Vocational School in Louisville and was involved with Bardstown United Methodist Church and Southern Hills Church of the Nazarene in Louisville.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dr. John Hood; one daughter, Katina (Rodney) Nichols of Shepherdsville; two sons, William A. (Michelle) Hood of Billings, Mont., and Rodney B. Hood of Mount Washington; two sisters, Bobbie Mason of Clemons, N.C., and Glenda (Jack) Clemons of Johnson City, Tenn.; one brother, Lon (Zade) Shuler of Johnson City, Tenn.; 8 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
The funeral is 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2019, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Graybill officiating.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2019, at the funeral home.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.
The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
