Obituary: Jacqueline ‘Jackie’ Rowe, 89, Bardstown

Jacqueline “Jackie” Rowe, 89, of Bardstown, died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019, at the Episcopal Church Home. She was born Jan. 29, 1930, in Birmingham, Ala., to the late Samuel and Tommie Owen Jacks. She was the former food service director for Bardstown City Schools and was a member of Bardstown Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mallory A. Rowe Jr.; one son, Scott Alan Rowe; and one sister, Miriam Coker.

She is survived by two daughters, Debra “Debbie” (Skip) Sayres of Shreveport, La., and Lisa (Don) Miles of Bardstown; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019, at the Bardstown Baptist Church with Bro. Jeff McCarty officiating. Burial is in the Bardstown Cemetery.

Visitation is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019, at the Bardstown Baptist Church. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Bardstown Baptist Church.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
