Obituary: Ann Luella ‘Momma Ann’ Pope, 80, Taylorsville
Ann Luella “Momma Ann” Pope, 80, of Taylorsville, died Monday, Oct. 7, 2019, at Baptist Health in Louisville. She was the former Ann Luella Grundy, born June 15, 1939, in Nelson County to the late Daniel and Luella Keene Grundy Sr. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Taylorsville. She loved riding, talking and socializing, and she never met a stranger.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Eugene Grundy, Carlos Grundy, Robert “Bob” Grundy, and Dan Grundy Jr.; and one grandson, Demarcus Downs.
She is survived by two daughters, Renita (Charles) Wakefield of Taylorsville and Melinda “Duck” (Donald) Bowens of Shelbyville; one son, Roy (Ericka) Pope Jr. of Taylorsville; two sisters, Margaret Tingle and Shirley Murphy, both of Taylorsville; four grandchildren, Daniel Wakefield, Charlissa Wakefield, Tiffany OBryan, and Roshona Pope; and four great-grandchildren, Jayceon Overall, Amari Manica, Dasani Ham, and Bayleigh Downs; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The funeral is 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, 2019, at the Taylorsville Second Baptist Church with Bro. Chance McConnell officiating. Burial is in the Bloomfield Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019, at the Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home in Taylorsville and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, 2019, at the church.
The Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements.
