Obituary: Catherine Ann Sims, 89, Bardstown

Catherine Ann Sims, 89, of Bardstown, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2019, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. She was born Jan. 11, 1930, to the late George Stanley and Margaret Mary Buckman Logsdon. She was a retired bookkeeper for Samuels Motor Company and a former substitute teacher for Bethlehem High School. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was an avid reader, had a very charitable and giving heart to her family, friends, and those she didn’t know.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Sims.

Survivors include two sons, Gabriel Sims of Bardstown and Chris Sims of Germany; two brothers, Pat Logsdon of Loretto and Tom Logsdon of California; and three grandchildren, Amanda Sims, Joshua Sims and Maven Edward Sims.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with the Rev. Minh Vu officiating with cremation following Mass.

Visitation is 9-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home.
