Shepherdsville man seriously injured in I-65 crash with semi-tractor trailer

Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019 — A Shepherdsville man was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning in the southbound lanes of I-65 near the 108 mile marker.

At about 5:56 a.m. Wednesday, Kentucky State Police Troopers from Elizabethtown Post 4 responded to a report of a crash involving a van hitting the rear of a parked semi tractor-trailer rig.
According to KSP, Anthony Napier, 46, of Shepherdsville, was operating a 2018 Chevy Express van southbound when he collided with a semi-tractor trailer parked on the shoulder of the interstate near the 108 mile marker.
Napier suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash, and was transported to University Hospital for treatment. The operator of the semi-tractor trailer, Jose Benitez, 30, of Miami, Fla., was not injured in the crash.
The southbound lanes of I-65 were shutdown to allow for police to investigate the crash and for clean-up of the crash scene.
The collision is still under investigation by Trooper Todd Simon.
