Obituary: Donald Joseph George, 78, Lebanon
Donald Joseph George, 78, of Lebanon, died Monday, Nov. 25, 2019, at Springview Hospital. He was born on April 14, 1941, in Louisville. He was Marion County treasurer for many years, as well as an accountant and member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hyleme George and Nonie Abraham George; one brother, Dr. Salem George; and one brother-in-law, Mark Gormley.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Margaret Lanham George of Lebanon; one daughter, Jackie (Tony) Omohundro of Richmond; one son, Donald Joseph George Jr. of Lebanon; three sisters, Irene (Jerry) Raterman of Louisville, Jo Ann Gormley of Versailles and Debbie (John) Matthews of Bardstown; two brothers, Dr. Anthony (Judy) George Sr. of Louisville and Hyleme S. (Peg) George Jr. of Kansas City, Mo.; two granddaughters, Paige Omohundro and Phoebe Omohundro, both of Richmond; and one sister-in-law, Eva George of Lebanon.
The Mass of Christian Burial is Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, 2019, at the Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon with a 7 p.m. prayer service.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Augustine Catholic Church.
The Bosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
