Obituary: William Thomas Vest III, 72, Mount Eden

William Thomas Vest III, 72, of Mount Eden, formerly of Louisville, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2019, at his residence. He was born Aug. 3, 1947, in Louisville to William Thomas and Mary Ann Goetzinger Vest Jr. He was retired employee of Sears, a pari-mutuel clerk for Churchill Downs and Keeneland Race Course and was of the Catholic Faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Cathy Cook and Margaret Glassford.

He is survived by three sons, Steve (Cossondra) Vest of Mount Eden, Michael Shane (Chrystal) Vest of Mount Washington and William Thomas Vest IV of Louisville; three sisters, Patty (Gary) Welby and Mary Lou Vest, both of Louisville, and Pam (Jimmy) Gregg of Mount Washington; three brothers, Donnie (Stephanie) Vest and Mike Vest, both of Taylorsville, and Tim (Kim) Vest of Shelbyville; and seven grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019, at the Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home in Taylorsville with burial in the Lebanon National Cemetery in Lebanon.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, 2019, at the funeral home.

The Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home in Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements.
