Obituary: James Larry Calbert, 73, Bardstown

James Larry Calbert, 73, of Bardstown, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019, at his residence. He was born March 13, 1946, in Bloomfield to the late William Minor and Aleta Bell Calbert. He was a self-employed asphalt sealing contractor and was a member of Campbell’s Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church.

He is survived by four sisters, JoEvelyn (Francis) Lewis of Bloomfield, Willette C. Mason of Lexington, Janice (Billy) Stivers of Bloomfield, and Sheila (Ricky) Sanders of Bardstown; eight brothers, Edward (Karen) Calbert, Don (Diann) Calbert, Glenn(Sheila) Calbert, Ray (Linda)Calbert all of Bardstown, Mike (Marcia) Calbert of Queens, N.Y., Bob (Donna) Calbert, Terry “T-Bone” (Leslie) Calbert and Brad (Rebecca) Calbert, all of Bardstown; and a host nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2019, at the Campbell Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church with the Rev. Harriett McElvaney officiating. Burial is in the St. Joseph Church Cemetery.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16, 2019, at the church and after 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2019 at the church.
