Local daycare to stay open to service families of local healthcare professionals

Tuesday, March 17, 2020 — Effective Friday, March 20, 2020, all daycare centers in the state will be closed in Nelson County with the exception of one.

Wee Care Day Care on Frost Avenue has received an emergency order to remain open in order to provide daycare services to healthcare professionals.

Wee Care has partners with Flaget Memorial Hospital and local physicians’ offices to provide their employees with daycare services so those parents who work in healthcare can continue to work.

According to a press release read during Tuesday’s Nelson Fiscal Court meeting, Wee Care is open to provide daycare to any healthcare worker who may need it. They are ready to provide services for up to 150 children up to age 12 years of age.
