Storm report: Icy roadways lead to numerous non-injury accidents

Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, 11:54 p.m. — Officers are on the scene of a non-injury accident due to slick roadways on KY 49 near the former site of the Heaven Hill Distillery. Officers report a wrecker arriving on scene slid into a guardrail trying to stop. A KSP trooper is moving to the top of the hill near the Heaven Hill bottling plant to stop traffic.

At about 11:45 p.m., a state road department salt truck slid through the traffic light and hit another vehicle in the intersection of US 62 and KY 245.

12:38 a.m. — City police report Charmbers Boulevard is impassable due to road conditions. A city police cruiser stopped to check on a car that slid off the roadway and found himself stuck.

12:40 a.m. — Officers are waiting for a salt truck to come out KY 49 to Heaven Hill so the wreckers can pull the vehicles involved in an earlier accident.
