Michaela Collins, SL, 98, Nerinx

Sr. Michaela Collins, SL, 98, of the Sisters of Loretto Motherhouse, Nerinx, died Sunday, July 10, 2011, at the Motherhouse Infirmary.

She was born October 7, 1912, in Colorado and entered religious life in 1940.  She taught Greek and Latin in the St. Louis Catholic School System.  She moved to the Loretto Motherhouse in 2005.

She is survived by a nephew, Neal Berry of England.

Cremation was chosen.  Her memorial Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2011, at the Loretto Motherhouse Church with a wake at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the Motherhouse.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the Loretto Hunger Fund or the Sisters of Loretto Retirement fund, 515 Nerinx Road, Nerinx, KY 40049.
