Northeast Nelson Fire called to rescue horse in swimming pool

Thursday, July 14, 2011, 11:57 a.m. — The Northeast Nelson Fire Department responded to 600 block of Ashes Creek Road for an animal rescue. Caller said there was a horse stuck in a swimming pool.

12:05 p.m. — Firefighters and the county’s animal control officer are responding to the location.

12:11 p.m. — Firefighter on scene reports the horse is in a pool with a depth of approximately 3-1/2 feet. There is no water in the pool.

1:06 p.m. — Firefighters are waiting on a vet to arrive to tranquilize the animal prior to removing it from the pool.

1:56 p.m. — Firefighters report the horse is out of the swimming pool.
