Northeast Nelson investigates lightning strike on Fairfield Road

Tuesday, July 19, 2011, 6:45 p.m. — The Northeast Nelson Fire Department is responding to the area of 3700 Fairfield Road. The homeowner at that address believes the home may have been hit by lightning.

7:26 p.m. — Firefighters visually inspected the home and checked it with a thermal imaging camera and found no sign of fire. Lightning apparently entered the home via a telephone line, but no fire was started. Units are clearing the scene and returning to station.
