Joseph Vincent Greenwell, 65, Niagara Falls, Ontario

Joseph Vincent Greenwell, 64, Ontario, Canada, a native of Bardstown, died Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at Hospice Niagara.

He was a 1965 graduate of Bardstown High School and a member of the United States Navy, 1965-69.  He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed traveling and music, but his true love in life was spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Judy Catherwood Greenwell; a son, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Greenwell, Welland, Canada; two grandsons, Jacob Greenwell and Lucas Greenwell; his parents, Christine and Charles Janes, Bardstown; four sisters, Diane (Johnny) Unseld, Marlene Greenwell, Faye Janes, Mona (Danny) Allen, all of Bardstown; a brother, Charlie Janes of Bardstown; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral in celebration of his life will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 23, 2011, at Patterson Funeral Home, 6062 Main St., Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada.

The family requests donations to Autism Niagara or Hospice Niagara.
