Freezing rain to continue; icy roads remain a driving hazard

Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, 10 a.m. — Freezing rain mixed with sleet and snow at times will continue across Nelson County this morning. Accumulations of sleet and snow of about 1 inch are expected by the time the system moves off to the East.  Ice accumulations of 1/2-inch have been observed.

Louisville Gas & Electric and Kentucky Utilities are reporting scattered minor outages in their service areas, none of which are in Nelson County.

Expect untreated roadways to be very slick and hazardous, and be aware that treated roadways may have icy patches.

The Winter Storm warning for Nelson County will continue through 1 p.m. this afternoon.
