Man suffers stab wound in fight at Shorty’s Bar & Liquor

Monday, July 25, 2011, 5 p.m.(UPDATED 8:20 p.m.)  — A 52-year-old man was taken to Flaget Hospital after he showed up at the Bardstown Police Department parking lot with a stab wound. EMS was called about 5 p.m. Monday to transport the man to the hospital. He told police he was stabbed in the abdomen during an altercation with another man at Shorty’s Bar & Liquor, 133 Banjo St. in Bardstown. The victim was combative with EMS and at least one police officer rode with the victim in the ambulance during transport to Flaget. Police are looking for a man who has been identified as a suspect in the stabbing.

UPDATE July 26, 2011, 8:22 p.m. — The victim, following treatment at Flaget, was arrested by police in connection with this incident.
