Joy Maxine Gaffney, 76, formerly of Bardstown

Joy Maxine Gaffney, 76, formerly of Bardstown, died Sunday, July 24, 2011, at Sherman Hospital in Elgin, Ill.  She was born August 5, 1934, in Chicago to Edward E. and Esther C. Berkowitz Mansfield. She married Joseph Stanley Gaffney on June 26, 1998, in Bardstown.  She was a retired real estate agent with Lasko Realtors in Dundee, Ill. for several years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two children, Britt Miles and Bonnie Carole Lasko.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Stanley Gaffney of Dundee, Ill., two sons,  David Lasko and Steven Gaffney; two daughters, Mary Ann Gaffney and Antoinette Perkins; a brother, Dr. James Mansfield; a sister, Jane Himel; and 10 grandchildren,.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 28, 2011, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in West Dundee, Ill. A graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2011, at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Cemetery in Bardstown.

Visitation in Bardstown will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, July 29, 2011, at Mann and Greenwell Funeral Home.
