Man arrested for allegedly shoplifting dog food from Krogers
July 29, 2011, 11 p.m. — A Bardstown man was arrested Friday after he allegedly attempted to check out of the Bardstown Krogers without paying for his dog food.
Trevor Ballard, 23, was arrested by Bardstown Police Friday afternoon and charged with second-degree robbery after he was allegedly caught trying to take three bags of dogfood out of the Bardstown Kroger store without paying for them on Thursday.
Ballard was stopped by the store’s loss prevention personnel, and according to police, struggled with them until he slipped out of his shirt and ran from the store. Police were unable to locate Ballard Thursday, but they did locate and impound the vehicle he was driving.
Ballard was arrested at his home without incident and lodged in the Nelson County Jail. The investigation in the incident is continuing.
