WBRT to broadcast live Saturday from the 131st annual Fancy Farm picnic

STAFF REPORT

MARSHALL CO. JUDGE-EXECUTIVE MIKE MILLER

Friday, Aug. 5, 2011, 12:15 p.m. — If you aren’t able to make the 3 1/2-hour drive to Graves County Saturday for the 131st annual Fancy Farm Picnic, you can still catch the political stump speeches from the state’s major candidates live on your Hometown Radio Station, 1320 WBRT.

WBRT will begin its broadcast of the political speeches at 3 p.m. Saturday and continue until the candidates’ portion concludes about 5 p.m. Emcee for the event is Marshall County Judge-Executive Mike Miller. Miller is a Democrat, who follows Republican state Rep. Jeff Hoover who served as emcee last year.

The picnic is held annually on the grounds of St. Jerome Catholic Church in Fancy Farm, Ky., and is a two-day church picnic that attracts political candidates from around the state each year.
