Two people injured in two-car crash on Bellwood Road

Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, 12:02 p.m. — Police, Nelson County EMS and the Bardstown Fire Department responded this morning just before noon to a reported two car injury accident in the 4600 block of Bellwood Road. One of the vehicles jumped a guardrail and rolled over and down an embankment. Firefighters were called to help extricate the driver ofthat vehicle. Officers closed Bellwood Road while first responders were working the accident.

A passenger woman who complained of facial cuts and an uninjured infant left the scene to go to the hospital by private vehicle. The driver, described as a 49-year-old woman, was transported to Flaget Memorial Hospital by Nelson County EMS for treatement of minor injuries.
