Bardstown Fire responds to tractor-trailer fire on Blue Grass Parkway

Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011, 9:22 a.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department is responding for a report of a tractor-trailer on fire near the 18 mile marker on the Blue Grass Parkway. The to dispatchers happened about 9:20 Tuesday morning. According to firefighters at the scene, it appeared the fire involved the rear tires on the trailer. Firefighters shut down the westbound lanes of the parkway, and sheriff deputies responded for traffic control. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, which did not spread into the cargo area of the trailer. Firefighters were on scene about 30 minutes.
