13-year-old injured in dirt bike accident on Caney Fork Road

Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, 5:07 p.m. — A 13-year-0ld girl was injured Saturday afternoon after the dirt bike she and a friend were riding crashed on Caney Fork Road. Nelson County EMS and the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 1000 block of Caney Fork Road on a report of two juveniles injured. The other juvenile reportedly had cuts and abrasions. The 13-year-old was taken to Flaget Memorial Hospital complaining of left side numbness. EMTs reported the girl was not wearing a helmet. The call to Nelson County Dispatch came in about 4:36 p.m. Saturday.
