New Haven police calls for EMS after finding man unresponsive in car
Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011, 10:57 p.m. — A man in his 30s was taken to Flaget Memorial Hospital late Sunday night after he was discovered unresponsive in his Plymouth mini-van sitting in the middle of Center Street in New Haven. A caller to Nelson County Dispatch at about 11:45 p.m. Sunday reported a man in a van who appeared to be intoxicated; New Haven Police Chief K. C. Holbert investigated and called for EMS after he found the man unresponsive in his van stopped in the middle of the street. The man told EMTs he had melted a morphine patch and injected it, along with some other drugs including the prescription medicine Adderall. Nelson County EMS responded to the scene to transport the man to the hospital. The police investigation is continuing.
