Odor investigation finds faulty water heater flue pipe at Maple Hill home
Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, 11:45 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department responded to 303 North Center St. for an odor investigation. A city police officer on scene reports the odor of natural gas inside the residence.
12:03 a.m. — Firefighters determine the problem isn’t natural gas but carbon monoxide; they find a faulty flue pipe on a gas water heater.They shut off the gas to the water heater and ventilated the residence.
