Charles Michael ‘Mike’ Boone, 52, Bardstown

Charles Michael “Mike” Boone, 52, of Bardstown, died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville after a long illness.  He was born March 6, 1959, in Bardstown, was a former employee of SPI and Inoac Automotive in Springfield, and an avid outdoorsman.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Inez Bartley Boone and two brothers, infant Ronald Lee Boone and Francis T. “Buck” Boone, Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Evelyn Norris Boone; a son, Michael Aaron Boone (and fiancee’, Jessiy Cathers) of Louisville; a daughter, Heather Michelle Boone (and fiancee’, Paul Walker) of Bardstown; five brothers, Thomas Louis (Caroline) Boone of Louisville, Joseph Leroy (JoAnn) Boone, Joey Greenwell, Eddie Greenwell, Freddy Boone, all of Bardstown; three sisters, Elizabeth Geraldine (Denny) Sallengs of Shepherdsville, Patricia Ann “Bonnie” (Wayne) McDonald and Cheryl Burkhead, both of Bardstown; his father, Francis T. “Pete” (Wanda) Boone, Sr. of Bardstown; several nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins; and two faithful dog companions, Brissells and Scooter.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011, at Mann and Greenwell Funeral Home with burial in St. Thomas Cemetery.  The Reverend Ben Brown will officiate.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29, 2011, and after 8:30 a.m.. Tuesday at the funeral home.
